James/Wild orchid has so much to offer when it comes to the daily entertainment, from daily events to even cornhole which we enjoyed playing, to beach volleyball and also things to do at the poolside and then the snorkel tour free of charge which is well worth it last about 45min and must early mornings as they have them from 9am and 10am, kayaking, and paddle board, only thing extra is sail boat unless you know how to sail they provide you with lots to do. We did also have to talk to the front desk manager Leteisha Thompson, which Secrets St James is lucky to have a person like her working hard and making sure her guests are happy and also made it feel important which I can not give enough praise, she made our trip extra special dealing with the issues that we had, these are the type of people needed in these jobs to make sure they cater and take care of their guests. The rooms are we kept and nice, we stayed at junior suite with king size bed and jacuzzi, we did have a few issues with housekeeping and room, but one thing for sure the manager for housekeeping her name is Nadine was understanding and caring and took the time to take care of the matter which we appreciate her and her staff for what they do.
Also the Italian and French was good and we did not mind the Jamaican restaurant but food was very spicey which to them is true style. They had variety of restaurants to choose, our favourite being the Asian, which had good dishes but unfortunate no sushi dishes, only a few sushi dishes if you were in the preferred side. You do get it all, but in my opinion the food has it own flavour, which is the Jamaican culture, from some dishes having bit more spice. One thing I like about secrets resorts is being adult only and 5 star resort, and also the good food one can have. One thing I realize you have to be up at 6am or so to put your towels on the seats you like for the day as people are up early. The resort is located in a nice area of Montego Bay, with nice scenery of hill top landscape of homes across the resort, man made beach are nice and variety of beach space to choose from. James secrets is split between the Breathless resort which is more of a party type resort and Wild Orchid. One thing I must say first island time and/or Jamaican time is a real thing, as they are very chill and laid back and not in a rush for anything which is not a bad thing but for people that are punctual could be a bit much, but for us we were on vacation and we just follow their lead. Have been to several Secrets resorts, from Costa Rica, to Mexico at the Vines, silversands, the capri, and then Dominican at cap Cana and Royal Beach, all have been great resorts with each having their own unique flavour from food to entertainment and staff.
